A glossary is simply a list: the key terms used in your documents, their approved translations into each target language, and often a note on context or usage, i.e. when a term applies, and when a similar-looking one doesn’t. It sounds almost too simple to matter.<\/strong> In practice, it’s the difference between a set of documents that reads like it was all written by the same organization, and one where every new translation reinvents decisions that were already made months ago.<\/p>\n Building a glossary from scratch means going through existing translated material, or working with a translator to establish approved terms as new documents come in.
